There abound great potentials to support meaningful and massive industrialization of this Local Government. The proximity of the Local Government to the Osogbo, the state Capital coupled with its advantage in the areas of land put it at an advantage in the areas of agricultural development and establishment of agro-based industries either by the government or individual. The Local Government is a major producer of food crops such as Grains, Cassava, fruits and Yam tubers. The major cash crops include Cocoa, Kolanuts and Cashew nuts are produced in large quantities. The Local Government has also made some direct investment in agriculture. The fishponds are established at Ilobu and Erin-Osun, while the poultry farm is at Ilobu. In addition, over six hundred acres of arable farmland have been cultivated for the production of Cassava and grains at Ilobu and Erin-Osun. The economic activities of the inhabitants of the Local Government Area in trade, commerce and industry are essentially agro-allied. The area plays host to several small-scale industries that engage in little the processing of a range of food and cash crops. People of the area are also involved in petty trading, transportation, and service trade. It is interesting to note that Kolanut cultivated and produced in such commercial activities that its trade has became a livelihood of many traders, mostly women in the two principal towns as well as in villages and hamlets within the Local Government Area. Going by the volume of patronage, which the Ilobu and Erin-Osun markets, receive every week, it can be ascertained that the quality is quite enormous
